Established in 1963 as Jordan's national carrier, Royal Jordanian a pioneer in the airline industry continues its journey to become the airline of choice for passenger traveling in the region and the world. For the last 42 years RJ has redefined the meaning of luxury, customer service, and innovative thinking. With the commitment to modernize our selves, Royal Jordanian have decided to re-brand itself.

Royal Jordanian is a private shareholder company that saw the privatization process in February 2001, under the name of "Alia" the Royal Jordanian Airline Public Shareholding Company. A testimony of Royal Jordanian's excellent performance in the past, Royal Jordanian has been invited to join oneworld airline alliance in 2005 making Royal Jordanian the first airline in the region to be given such a prestigious honor that will benefit both oneworld and Royal Jordanian Airlines

Modernizing our fleet
Royal Jordanian Airlines embarked on the 21st century with renewing its fleet with the A340 aircraft giving its passengers an experience of luxury that was unprecedented for Jordanians. In 2005 the airline received a new set of aircraft such as the turbo propeller Q400 which is internationally known to be an aircraft of choice for passengers who are seeking a quite, smooth trip to short haul destinations.
Royal Jordanian's A320 was designed with our passenger's convenience in mind in all classes. With the all new Video on Demand System that allows every passenger the ability to choose from our vast collection of recently released movies, or to listen to their choice of music from our diverse modern music library.
