Brief Description of the Project:

The purpose of this technical assistance project is to promote sustainable tourism in Belarus as source of country’s regional development. The project has three components:

1. Preparation of a sustainable tourism development strategy and action plan for each of the four tourism destinations targeted by the project  
2. Capacity building programme for tourism stakeholders and decision-makers
3. Support to the implementation of the strategies and action plans

The main project partner is the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus. Other partners are several relevant governmental institutions, regional and local authorities, associations and NGOs linked to tourism.
