ObjectStyle has deep roots in the open-source community. In the early 2000's we were looking for an open alternative to commercial ORM solutions for Java. Since there were none available, we ended up writing our own framework called "Cayenne" (now "Apache Cayenne" - since it's presently part of the Apache Software Foundation).

Out of this initiative, in 2002, emerged a com­pany called ObjectStyle, whose original purpose was to help early Cayenne adopters migrate from legacy persistence technologies. Among the early adopters of the framework were the National Hockey League, the Law Library of Congress, and other well-known organizations. Open-source products started by ObjectStyle include Apache Cayenne, Bootique.io, Agrest, LinkMove, and DFLib.

Over the years, ObjectStyle evolved into a full-service provider that is capable of carrying out complex projects: writing software, performing end-to-end testing and quality assurance, creating complex software architectures, and much more. Nowadays, it’s a fully-fledged provider of custom software development services with offices in the U.S., Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine.
