Shantou University, founded in 1981 with the approval of the National State Council, is a comprehensive university under the jurisdiction of the Guangdong Province and co-developed by the Ministry of Education, the Guangdong Provincial Government and the Li Ka Shing Foundation. STU is the first Demonstration University for Institutional Reform in Guangdong and the only public university in the world that constantly subsidized by a private foundation, namely the Li Ka Shing Foundation. Currently, the campus covers a total area of 1,889.28 mu and a total built area of 566,000 square meters.

Introduction to School of Business:

Business School is committed to advancing with the times and developing global competence through education in contemporary society. With the mission of "educating tomorrow’s business managers with global perspectives, craftsmanship spirit, ability to innovate and willingness to take responsibility", the school actively promotes and implements the "Artificial Intelligence and Big Data plus Programs" interdisciplinary talent training system. It has formed the school characteristics of interdisciplinary integration and focuses on the cultivation of integrated thinking, innovation and entrepreneurial capability.

There are 84 faculty members in Business School, including 16 professors. To be specific, 94% of the faculty has doctoral degrees and 16% of them are from countries/regions outside the Chinese mainland. More than 60% of the faculty have overseas study and work experience. 48% of the faculty has been selected for the university's outstanding talents program.

There are five undergraduate majors: Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, International Economy and Trade, and Finance.Business School currently owns two first-level post-graduate programs of Business Administration and Applied Economics, and the Master of Business Administration (MBA), one national and four provincial first-class undergraduate majors in the "Double Ten Thousand Plan".Business School is designated as the Provincial Comprehensive Reform Pilot College for Universities and the Provincial Undergraduate Practical Teaching Base in Guangdong. The School also owns an Institute of Guangdong-Taiwan Enterprise Cooperation, which is a key research base for humanities and social sciences in universities in Guangdong Province.

Business School promotes teaching reform and research and creates a number of high-level teaching achievements with demonstration and promotion value. Since 2018, teachers of the school, as the first completer, have won one National Teaching Achievement Award and four Guangdong Provincial Education Teaching Achievement Awards. One course conducted by the School faculty is listed in the first batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Courses.

Business School has formed academic teams with distinctive directions such as innovation and entrepreneurship management, organization and strategic management, accounting and financial management, big data and supply chain management, industrial economics, etc. In 2021, the school faculty have been funded by over 3 national and 21 provincial-level projects and published 52 high-level research papers as the first author or corresponding author, among which 2 have been accepted by UT Dallas international top journal.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB),Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Network (SREEN),has obtained the official membership of the Business Graduates Association (BGA), an international accrediting body for business education.
