Bancassurance Manager - Retail Business Directorate
The Bank Assurance Owner is responsible for developing and managing the bank’s bancassurance business. This role focuses on designing and executing strategies to drive growth in the insurance product portfolio, in collaboration with insurance partners and internal teams, ensuring that the bank achieves its financial objectives and meets customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Bancassurance Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement the overall bancassurance strategy in alignment with the Retail Business Directorate’s objectives.
- Identify new opportunities for cross-selling insurance products to the bank’s existing and prospective retail customer base.
- Collaborate with insurance partners to create tailored insurance products that address customer needs and market demands.
Product Management:
- Oversee the development, marketing, and management of bancassurance products across all distribution channels (branches, digital platforms, etc.).
- Ensure that products are competitively priced, meet regulatory requirements, and offer value to customers.
- Monitor product performance and adjust the portfolio in response to market changes, customer feedback, and competitive dynamics.
Business Growth and Revenue:
- Drive the expansion of bancassurance by identifying potential revenue streams and ensuring the achievement of financial targets.
- Develop sales targets for bancassurance across branches and retail channels and monitor performance to ensure business goals are met.
- Work closely with branch managers, sales teams, and financial consultants to improve bancassurance product knowledge and sales techniques.
Partnership Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance companies and other relevant partners to ensure product alignment and maximize collaboration opportunities.
- Negotiate terms with insurance providers to ensure favorable conditions for both the bank and its customers.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all bancassurance products and processes comply with local laws, regulatory guidelines, and internal policies.
- Keep up to date with changes in insurance and banking regulations and ensure all activities are aligned with regulatory requirements.
Customer Experience:
- Work closely with customer experience teams to ensure bancassurance products offer high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continuously improve products and services.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Provide regular performance reports to the Head of Retail Business and other senior management, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales volumes, revenue growth, and customer retention.
- Conduct market analysis and competitor research to identify trends and inform future strategy.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bancassurance, retail banking, or the insurance industry.
- Proven track record in developing and executing bancassurance strategies.
- Experience in managing partnerships with insurance providers is an advantages

- Strong understanding of bancassurance and retail banking products.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
