Release manager

We are looking for a Release Manager to join our growing Service Management Team within our Technology Operations department.
The Release Manager acts as driver and implementer of the Release Management Process within the company.The Release Manager ensures validity and continuity of the Release Management Procedure, its alignment with best practices and standards to remain compliant, and supplies the relevant parties with necessary tools and knowledge to properly carry out their deployments.
As the Release Manager, you will be expected to engage teams in discussion to confirm that proper planning, testing, communication, and risk management has taken place prior to deployments going live. The right candidate needs to be a critical thinker, inquisitive, attentive to detail, great at communicating, and most importantly a team player!

Key Responsibilities:
The Release Manager is expected to -

• Plan the release of project deliverables and release life cycle (liaise with Business Analysts and Delivery Managers);

• Communicate project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, security scans, task sets, release units etc. to various stakeholders;

• Coordinate the release schedule and resources allocated to it;

• Identify the risks that may delay the release and address them accordingly;

• Ensure, by best effort, that major releases are deployed according to the existing schedule;

• Ensure the Release Management Procedure adheres to best practices and standards;

• Ensure the Release Management Procedure aligns with the Change Management strategy;

• Continually evaluate the existing Release Management Procedure and ways of working, identify the areas of improvement and enhancements to the process and implement them accordingly;

• Schedule the release readiness reviews prior to deployment and milestone reviews after each release;

• Plan and give weekly updates on the release activities;

• Schedule Release Planning sessions to discuss the release schedules with various stakeholders and identify potential roadblocks;

• Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications lists, and dependencies;

• Implement, gather, monitor and analyze metrics related to Release Management;

• Continuously educate Altenar employees on the Release Management Procedure.

Experience/skills required:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;

• An understanding and working knowledge of Incident, Problem, and Change Management;

• Prior experience in Release Management within tech and product is a must;

• ITIL certification is a plus;

• Proficiency in tools such as Jira and Confluence to complete daily tasks;

• Capable of working both independently and as a team;

• Experience in working with KPIs and metrics within Release and Change Management.
