Senior Civil Structural Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Structural Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and construction oversight of complex structural engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, safety, and efficiency of structures, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, and managing multiple projects from concept to completion. This role demands a proactive leader with a deep understanding of structural engineering principles, project management, and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Structural Design & Analysis:
   • Lead the design of structural elements such as buildings, bridges, foundations, and other infrastructure.
   • Perform structural analysis using software (e.g., STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, etc.) to ensure stability, integrity, and load-bearing capacity.
   • Conduct load calculations (wind, seismic, dead/live loads) and perform stress analysis.
2. Project Management:
   • Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
   • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, geotechnical) to integrate designs.
   • Oversee project planning, timelines, budgeting, and resource allocation.
3. Compliance with Codes & Regulations:
   • Ensure designs comply with local, national, and international building codes (e.g., SP RK, SN RK, Eurocodes).
   • Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.
   • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering standards and regulations.
4. Construction Oversight:
   • Supervise construction activities to ensure structural elements are built according to design specifications and industry standards.
   • Conduct site inspections to verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
   • Resolve any structural issues that arise during construction by providing technical support and design modifications as needed.
5. Technical Leadership:
   • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and drafters, providing guidance and reviewing their work.
   • Conduct design reviews and approve engineering deliverables.
   • Lead technical meetings and workshops to solve complex engineering challenges.
6. Client Interaction:
   • Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring their project requirements and expectations are met.
   • Prepare and deliver presentations, technical reports, and updates to clients and stakeholders.
   • Address client concerns and provide solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Sustainability and Innovation:
   • Incorporate sustainable practices and environmentally friendly solutions in designs.
   • Stay abreast of new technologies and innovations in structural engineering and apply them to improve project efficiency and performance.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports.
   • Ensure proper document control and storage throughout the project.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in structural design and project management.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong knowledge of local and international building codes and standards (NTP RK, SN RK, SP RK, Eurocodes).
• Project Management: Experience managing large-scale civil/structural engineering projects.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and reporting.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead engineering teams and mentor junior staff.
