Contracts Engineer (Aksai, 28/28)

JOB DUTIES

1. Formulation of effective contracting strategy within Well Engineering Operations.
2. Revising of existing Company Contract proformas and/ or drafting of new specific terms and conditions.
3. Sourcing of capital services and equipment to support Well Engineering operations.
4. Compilation of Invitation to Tender Packages in tandem with the WCS Technical Contracts Engineer.
5. Tendering, commercial evaluation, negotiation and award of services all in accordance with Company procedures.
6. Compilation of JPC Submissions for Section Head review and approval
7. Ensuring compliance with Production Sharing Agreement, Company and JOC Tendering Procedures.
8. Negotiation and drafting of service contracts and liaison with related Company functions to conclude contract execution.
9. Preparation and presentation of recommended tendering activities and contract awards to the Company Joint Procurement Committee (JPC).
10. Post award contract administration and management reporting on contract term, expenditure and amendments.
11. Service Contractor liaison and management to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
12. Review of Company service contract proformas and recommendation on amendments.
13. Perform other instructions of management / line management within its competence.

Requirements:

• Higher education in economical/finance areas and not less than 2 years of work experience as Contracts Engineer (working with Well Operations contracts).

Necessary knowledge

• Demonstrable thorough understanding of the practical contracting issues associated with remote Drilling Operations, Well Engineering services e.g. Terms and Conditions, Payment Structures/ Schedules, Dispute Resolution and Amendment Tracking.

Necessary skills

• Be a first-class communicator, able to effectively interface with Company well engineering personnel, management and Contractor representatives at all levels and integrate in to the WCS;
• Fluent communication skills (verbal and written) in English;
• Proven track record in contractual negotiation, drafting, delivery and management of capital well engineering contracts and associated logistics support in an international environment;
• Ability to work to challenging project/ tendering schedules and prioritise contracting requirements;
• Able to constructively challenge existing preconceptions, find and apply innovative solutions and realise cost reductions wherever possible within the contracting process.
