Lead Java Developer

The IT company Andersen invites a Lead Java Developer to work on a project in the field of FinTech for one of our German customers.

The customer is a world leader in insurance and B2B2C support, which offers global solutions that span international health and life insurance, travel insurance, cars, and their service. The company is dedicated to delivering world-class, agile, and sustainable IT solutions, driving full-spectrum digitalization.

The project is development of a travel assistant, integrating numerous third-party APIs, diverse notification channels, reusable backend services, adopting a backend-agnostic approach, and implementing a CMS.

Responsibilities:

• Improving Code Quality Through Code Reviews and Team Training.
• Implementing Necessary Architectural Solutions for Performance Reviews and/or Consulting Agency Reviews.
• Implementing a Current Tool Stack to Maintain Code Quality.
• Ensuring Sufficient and Up-to-Date Project Documentation (Confluence, Jira).
• Implementing New and Maintaining Existing Development Standards to Optimize Delivery.
• Representing the Team in Communication with Business and Other Departments.
• Ensuring Compliance with Internal Audit Requirements.
• Monitoring Predictable Product Delivery (Timelines and Workload Distribution).
• Managing Technical Debt and Technical Risks, reducing Regression Time.
• Ensuring Code Coverage with Tests of at Least 80%.
• Onboarding New Employees and Maintaining Up-to-Date Onboarding Documentation.
  

Must-haves:

• Experience as a Java Developer for 5+ years.
• Experience leading technical projects or teams for 1+ year.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot framework.
• Experience with OpenAPI for designing and documenting APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
• Practical experience with AWS.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
