System Engineer (DevOps) + AWS

The IT company Andersen invites an experienced System Engineer (DevOps) + AWS to work on a project for our Bulgarian partner.

The customer is a next-generation tech company focused on providing products across all online gaming verticals: Sportsbook, Casino, and Lottery games, as well as the all-in-one iGaming platform. The company is focused on servicing operators in regulated markets, helping them achieve competitive advantage and supporting them with revolutionary tech innovations.

The project is configuring, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining environments for the company's diverse client base.

Responsibilities:

• Installing and configuration of application servers and databases.
• Building and maintaining microservice-based application platforms.
• Ensuring a smooth operation of production and development environments and resolving issues, including implementing effective monitoring and incident response strategies.
• Monitoring of the information systems.
• Solving problems related to the productivity, performance, and availability of the information systems investigating and analyzing problems in production environments with the help of application logs, source code, development tools, and documentation.
• Interacting and working with multiple application and IT teams as part of environment setup, maintenance, and support.
• Maintaining live products and services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Being responsible for system improvements including Deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.

Must-haves:

• Experience as a DevOps Engineer for 4+ years.
• In-depth knowledge of DevOps methodologies, practices, and principles.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure concepts.
• Heavy Linux skills.
• Experience with public clouds - AWS specifically.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, containers and other cloud native tools.
• Experience with one or more monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
• Scripting knowledge, no matter Bash, Python, or other scripting language.
• CI/CD processes with Jenkins, Gitlab or other tools.
• Knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL.
• Knowledge in Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka or similar technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Virtualization KVM, Vmware.
• Experience in Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
• Experience with Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch and other technologies related to monitoring.
• Knowledge of OLAP databases. ​​​​​​​
