Lead Mechanical Engineer (Rotating)

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Lead Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) for Technical Services Project comprises the following key aspects:

• Provide technical knowledge to Technical Services regarding Rotating Equipment Engineering so to support it in accordance to Company assurance needs throughout all the project phases (design, construction and commissioning) according to appropriate technical standards, including RoK mandatory standards both for offshore and onshore facilities.
• Provide support to strategies and content of Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Construction, commissioning and assistance to Start-Up related to Projects developed by NDD.
• In collaboration with Stakeholders drives Venture performance in Project integrity, costs, and product quality by providing high value credible engineering services.
• Establish and sustain a structured and proactive approach to transfer knowledge to national staff
• Qualify as Technical Authority, in line with the company's Technical Authority Framework, to review and approve management of change, concession requestions, technical queries, and critical engineering deliverables.
• Ensures appropriate Engineering discipline controls for project and plant changes throughout the Project Management Process phases (Define, Execute)
• Maintains strong connections to shareholder Engineering Best Practice Networks

Lead Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) provides leadership and expertise on all aspects of Rotating Equipment within Technical Services as functional unit.

Qualification & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and 10+ years relevant engineering, fabrication, construction, maintenance and/or operations experience.
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrable relevant experience in Rotating Equipment discipline gathered from any of the following are required:
  • Mechanical vendors or contractors
  • Process industry
  • Oil & gas facilities
  • Refinery
  • Chemical and Petrochemical Plants
• Experience of the Multistage centrifugal compressor installation, commissioning and Start up.
• Good knowledge of International engineering standards, best practices, and systems
• Aware of & familiar with issues surrounding high pressure and high H2S facilities
• Experience in driving business improvement in engineering, key words being: technology, fit-for-purpose solutions and cost effectiveness
• Familiarity with RoK and/or other Caspian projects Onshore and/or Offshore is preferrable.
