Sustainable Energy Analyst

Juru is looking for a Sustainable Energy Analyst to join our Advisory business unit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. You will be part of an analytical team to support Juru in delivering advisory services related to sustainable energy and climate transition, covering analysis of policies, markets, investment and finance options, feasibility assessments across landmark energy and climate projects in the region.

While preferable, energy sector experience is not critical and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds.

Key responsibilities:

• Undertake data gathering, validation and analysis, both independently and collaboratively with Advisory team colleagues and across other Juru teams;

• Assist in economic and financial analysis of projects for capital investments (renewables, energy and resource efficiency, and other options relevant to a concrete project);

• Support in conducting market studies and economic modeling as relevant to concrete projects and areas (short to long-term);

• Conduct economic and policy research on issues of government policy, regulation, consumer behavior, and industry trends;

• Build economic models to forecast market demand, energy prices, tariff studies, and other quantitative deliverables;

• Support in organization of project-related events, incl. but not limited to meetings, workshops and conferences, as required; document the events by taking records and preparing relevant summary reports and memos;

• Engage in organizational part of site-visits and missions – coordinate logistics, prepare schedule and budget;

• Contribute to team efforts in drafting and reviewing various project-related documentation;

• Communicate the outcomes of analyses and produce analytics with engaging charts and graphics, using variety of desktop and cloud software tools;

• Undertake other ad-hoc tasks, which are appropriate to the level of the position.

Key qualifications

• Graduate degree in a numerate subject (e.g., economics, science, engineering)

• 2-3 years of relevant experience

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Results-driven team player

• Excellent communication skills

• Proficient user of desktop/cloud word processing and spreadsheet applications, particularly MS Excel/Google Sheets

• Excellent command of English and Russian, particularly written

• General understanding of energy and environmental issues

• Analytical judgment and ability to work under pressure to meet the deadlines
