Head of DevOps

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of DevOps to lead our DevOps, SRE, and InfoSec teams and drive the strategy for our infrastructure and operations. This role will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the overall DevOps strategy, aligned with business goals.
• Lead and mentor the DevOps team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Manage and optimize our AWS infrastructure.
• Oversee infrastructure as code practices using Terraform and support container orchestration through Kubernetes.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins and GitLab.
• Drive the development of observability and SRE processes, including monitoring and alerting.
• Collaborate with external service providers, including those offering audit or consultation services relevant to the function.
• Work with engineering teams to improve service reliability, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource use.
• Lead key initiatives like infrastructure security, disaster recovery planning, cloud cost optimization, and GitOps migration.
• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure reliable operational support for mission-critical applications.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with 2+ years in a leadership position.
• Strong experience managing AWS services.
• Advanced knowledge of containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes, including deployment, configuration, and administration.
• Proven experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Expertise in building and maintaining observability systems with tools like Prometheus, CloudWatch, and OpenSearch.
• Basic infosecurity knowledge, with experience working alongside or managing security teams. Solid understanding of modern security standards and best practices in cloud environments.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a strategic approach to DevOps implementation.

• Our owners are located in the US, Sales & Support teams from around the world;

• We work in micro-teams of 7-8 people using the Kanban methodology.
