Site Procurement Manager

About the employer: One of the leaders of the mining and metals industry in the world, it conducts business on 4 continents in almost 20 countries around the world.

Procurement manager is responsible communication with suppliers, developing procurement strategies and handling transportation, including the documentation, communication with carriers and service providers.

LOCATION OF THE POSITION: Democratic Republic of the Congo
SHIFT SCHEDULE: 6 weeks work in the DRC, 2 weeks work from home / any other city

Requirements:

• bachelor's degree in preferably Procurement, Logistics, Supply chain management, Finance or another relevant domain
• additional qualifications (CIPS, MBA, PM, etc.) or similar professional qualifications preferred
• 10-15 years of procurement experience in a large multinational organizational
• 3-5 years of experience in managing people and team in an international environment
• experience in Africa (import/export of goods, materials, raw materials) would be advantageous
• strong Upper-Intermediate level of English (speaking, writing), fluency Russian, French as an advantage
• experience of working with foreign manufacturers
• experienced in negotiating at the top management level and using different negotiation strategies
• having strong analytical, communication, social and negotiation skills
• ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• ability to take well-reasoned decisions

Responsibilities:

• Implementation of business unit strategic goals from the overall procurement strategy.

1. Accountable productivity/cost efficiency targets in their area of responsibility
2. Accountable for key compliance metrics such as PO-compliance, process compliance in their area of responsibility
3. Support stakeholder alignment and customer satisfaction
4. Manage quality of the Procurement process incl. compliance to policies, strategies and processes

• Manage relationships with stakeholders

1. Serve as key contact for stakeholders in the in their area of responsibility. Build effective relationships of mutual trust and understanding.
2. Understand business priorities and ensure Procurement activities effectively support business strategies
3. Transmit relevant business insights to Category Management as well as to buyers

• Manage supplier relationships

1. Manage and build effective relationships with key suppliers in their area of responsibility
2. develops supplier performance standards and targets focusing on delivery times, completeness of order (%) and product quality
3. Ensures that the required measurements are in place to measure supplier performance and that the said measurements are continuously updated
4. Ensures ongoing supplier performance measurement and identifies gaps in performance
5. Assists in identifying training and knowledge gaps within the MRP section and contributes in the development of training interventions
6. Plays a mentorship and coaching role
