MS SQL Database Administrator
The IT company Andersen invites an experienced MS SQL Database Administrator to join its team for working with a company from Ireland.
The customer is a leading international company specializing in the provision of financial and business services. The company collaborates with leading global banks, financial institutions, and corporations, ensuring high quality and reliability of its services and actively invests in the development of new technologies and solutions to stay at the forefront of the financial sector. It operates in over 29 countries, providing its services to clients worldwide.
The project is related to MS SQL database administration. The company has clients who use their MS SQL-based solution. Changes need to be made to the database for them. The tasks will already be filtered and come through Jira, and regular health checks of the database will also be required.
Responsibilities:
- Administrating of existing enterprise databases and the analysis, design and creation of new databases.
- Data modelling, database optimization, understanding and implementation of schemas, and the ability to interpret and write complex SQL queries.
- SQL/PLSQL and Database Reporting Support.
- Monitoring systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints.
- Working with software development function on database development improvements and schema reviews.
- Performing Backups of the database.
- Documenting the configuration of the system.
- Troubleshooting any reported problems.
- 2nd Line supporting to Global support.
- Monitoring and alerting database outages / failures.
- Supporting of all application software both in production and QA.
Must-haves:
- Experience as a SQL Developer for 5-10 years.
- Degree or equivalent experience in the stated areas.
- Experience in IT or operational experience.
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server DBA.
- Experience in SQL programming.
- Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
Nice-to-have:
- Database administration qualification.
- Experience with PLSQL.
